difference between minion and horror..
Hey.
i'm trying out necro, but is it any difference between all the summonen creatures necro have?
know that fiend has range attack.
But is it any difference between bone horror and bone minions?
(part from that they are 2 lvl 8 on minions and 1 lvl 12 horror)
is it only the lvl that seperates them?
so the horror will have more health and damage, but minions will be 2 with less..
great if someone had some info here.

horror cost 15e
minions cost 25e, low level, but you have 2 in a corpse.

Just the level
So obviously there damage, health and armour is different too (not so sure about the last 1).
Just ignore Minions, they're absolutely useless. Too low a level to be effective.

well i hate when ppl use minons over horrors....... there sooooo weak with there dmg output. You might get two minons but they are weak, with one horror it can stand on its own longer and with 10 health pips from vetras sac it will last longer then something with weaker amrour and less health, and will deal more dmg and costing 10nrg less is better.
But if u are going to be a minon bomber, death nova - taste of death then go minons... but i also hate the death nova -tod comb >_<

Verettas Sac will affect a low health minion and a high health minion equally, what's your point? I do agree with death nova comment. MMs need Death Nova in most situations. (ToPK, essential, SF, useful, PVP, possibly)
It depends on what you're aiming for with your necro.
Damage dealing is really not what an MM is all about. MM is the new tank. You're purpose is to keep the enemy of your allies, usually by minoin body blocking in PVP or fooling target selection in PVE.
To this end, Minions are more useful. When I do MM in a non solo, it would be in ToPK. Here minions/horros will die very quickly. Axe chains used by the creatures there will gib any minion in a few hits, with overkill. If you have 2 minions it takes longer to kill than 1, due to changed target time and wasted damage output.
Additionally, you have double the Soul Reaping.
When a horror dies, I gain 13 energy, 2 energy too little to raise a new one.
When my 2 minions die, I gain 26 energy, allowing me to raise another with 1 net gain.
Energy management shouldn't really be an issue at all in a good team, but the point is valid regardless.
Think that covers it.

Don't forget the "body blocking" aspect of it - minions are slightly smaller than horrors, yes, but there are 2/corpse, so you literally get a wall of minions and the enemy usually literally cannot get to your party. This is more useful in ToPK B/P teams, as BlueNovember said, where there isn't a solid tank for the party. With body blocking, it restricts the enemies' movement, keeping them cruched together and begging for five Order'd barrages ^_^ Works like a charm.

I like minions, great at those start places to help those beginners. Kill 1 monster, then minions, cast minions and then put Death Nova in, then just attack use Taste of Death for nice dmg + poison. Love it.

heh i agree MM is the new tank, but can ya tell all the new guys in tombs you're suppose to wait for your minion shield before charging in... lol.
i always use fiends and horrors, easier to keep higher levels alive for longer and once you have quite a few up it can be difficult to keep healing them. (backing them up against zee wall seems to be the most useful way to deal with this btw.)

I bring fiends,horrors, AND minions. My weapon combo grants me this luxury, my deadly Cesta is a 17/16 and I use the Grim 20/20.
The main reason I like bringing "minions" is because with a lvl13 they do die faster, hence keeping my (and others) energy up. I lagh at people who bitch when they see a lvl 13 minion, I come back and tell them that A> your still alive and they form a huge wall to protect your butt, and B. your energy bar is nice and full.

I tend to look at the purpose of the MM in situations..
in TOPK your the tank basically.. fiends arent much for blocking ( ai seems to be improved enough that if a monster has a choice between a fiend and a ranger standing next to it the rangers gets hit)
so I dont bother with fiends.. im constantly using every body and casting both horrors and minions.. the only danger to this is meteor shower.. which in making a lot of both and continual casting during battle of more even a meteor shower wont kill off the whole army.
since orders doesnt effect summoned it seems silly to add more ranged to an already strong ranged team of 5 rangers..
in Oro farming I take a combo of minions and fiends.. with the soulreaping benifit 16 death 13 reap 9 heal.. its actually more cost effective to bring minions due to when im moving the army a droped minion gives plenty of ene back to keep the primary fiends alive..

i used to take fiends and horrors, but when i solo, i find taht minions and horrors r good combo, cuz they body lock, etc. i can generally upkeep an army of bout 15-25 horrors/minions, and dn definately helps. its really funny tho to have an insanely huge army in missions, rendering the tank useless, lol.

I always prefer the Fiends and Horror over the Minions. I just find that the minions to be almost useless except for nova bombing. their dmg output is just plain pathetic, even at 16 death (so Lvl 11 minions I think), they deal about 0 dmg to a warrior, and not that much to a caster. I just can't see them body blocking very well, as they can be taken down with 2 hits due to their low armor, low health, and extra squishiness that all minions have (double physical dmg to them) while a bone horror, with more health, more armor can last much longer.

dead minions during battle is kinda the point...
of course their lower level of course they die faster.. and when they do their holding back monsters and allowing the team to create more corpses to make MORE minions.. who will have less degen... and cost you almost nothing to cast ( 5 ene with 10 soulreap to recast continual minions) this allows you to generate a LOT of minions and effectively spam constantly to make a rizen from every corpse.... plus the Orders nec will LOVE you because they have SERIOUS amounts of ene constantly and can rebirth on the spot in battle and never miss a beat with orders if their good..

so true...I just love they way my E is up all the time, even if I'm spamming orders & healing. I can help the monk too.
no need for a big minion army(in barrage team), just use 2-3 corpse to create them

i dont think that minions and horrors can be compared strictly by level, any more than fiends and horrors can. (i.e. horrors are just as good as fiends since they are the same level)...
personally, i use minions over horrors becuz it looks to me that they do more damage and live longer than horrors, and obviously, u get 2 for 1. and while i'm not one to brag, i've never seen any other MM's steady hold 30-40 minions in Tombs and Sorrows Furnace besides me, so apparently it works. :-D
